How to treat high ammonia nitrogen wastewater and what methods to use

With the rapid development of industry and the acceleration of urbanization, the ammonia nitrogen content in wastewater continues to increase, which poses a serious threat to the environment and human health. Therefore, there are mainly the following methods to deal with high ammonia nitrogen wastewater:

1. Oxidation precipitation method: Oxidation is carried out by using an oxidant (such as ammonia nitrogen agent) and then precipitated to achieve the purpose of purifying wastewater.

2. Biological treatment: Oxidation is carried out through specific microorganisms (such as nitrifying bacteria, ammonia oxidizing bacteria, etc.) to achieve the purpose of purifying wastewater.

3. Membrane method: Purify wastewater through membrane filtration.

4. Ion exchange method: Ion exchange is carried out through ion exchange agents to achieve the purpose of purifying wastewater.

5. Blow-off method: pass gas into water to allow sufficient contact and reaction between gas and water, blow volatile substances out of the water to achieve the purpose of treating pollutants.

6. Steam stripping ammonia evaporation method: distill the ammonia water in the wastewater, pass steam to evaporate the ammonia nitrogen in the wastewater, reduce its NH3-N content, and then recover it by cooling.

7. Ammonia removal membrane method: Use membrane technology to separate free ammonia in wastewater, and then absorb it through H2SO4.

The treatment of high ammonia nitrogen wastewater requires the selection of appropriate methods and technologies, and the selection and optimization based on actual conditions. Each of the above methods has its advantages and disadvantages, and a specific treatment plan needs to be selected based on the specific application environment.
